Creating a Link in Bio Page
To start creating your link in bio page, head over to the Pages tab within your marketplace:
Once you are in Pages, select the Domain (1) that you’d like to create a Link in Bio Page for. Then, click on the Create New (2) button and select the Link in Bio option.
Note - if you have never created a page for your selected domain before you will see a slightly different screen, still just select the Link in Bio option!
Next you will see a pop up window where you can enter your Page Name (1) and URL Slug (2). Your Page Name will be an internal labeling tool for you - customers will not see this name. As you fill out your Page Name the URL Slug will update automatically to match, that said, you can edit your URL Slug to something entirely different if you’d like. When you’re done, click Create Page to complete this step and start adding content to your page!
Once you have created your page, you will be taken to the next step - picking a template. You will see Link in Bio templates by default, but you can browse and use any of our available templates! Scroll through the templates and select different ones to see what they will look like as a page. When you’ve found a template you like, click the Done? Try adding more sections button. Please note that you can also select the Blank Template if you’d like to move directly to adding individual sections.
This will take you to a very similar looking page where you can add additional sections, if you’d like (this step is optional). You can scroll through to see several different kinds of additional content sections you can add. You can click on different options to see what they will look like within your page, and remove them by clicking the trash can icon. You can add as many or as few additional sections as you’d like! Once you have finished adding additional content sections, click the Done? Start editing button.
After clicking done, you will be taken to your newly created Link in Bio Page and can start adding your own personalized content! With the page builder you type / enter your content on the left, and see exactly what the page will look like in real time on the right. Link in Bio Tips and Tricks
The purpose of a Link in Bio page is to have a link that you can share in your social media bios so that your customers have a way to quickly access your page. Typically, a Link in Bio page can act as a central point for your followers to access various aspects of a your online presence, rather than just one single website! Our Link in Bio templates offer several different ways to display this information, but of course you can customize your Link in Bio page however you’d like.
Here are a few tips and tricks / best practices to consider when creating a Link in Bio page:
1. Keep it Simple. Use a clean, mobile-first layout and limit distractions on the page (minimal links on the page, not overloaded with information, etc.). Stick with a simple color palette that matches your branding!
2. Make It Fast. You’ll want to avoid slow-loading embeds or videos. Luckily, SamCart’s Pages load at lightning fast speed - but you’ll want to avoid having a lot of long videos or large photos as this can cause slower loading times depending on a customer’s internet connection. Optimize images and videos for mobile!
3. Prioritize the Most Important Actions. Put your top Call to Action (I.e. “Shop Now,” “Subscribe,” “Get Tickets”) right at the top so it’s the first thing your customers see and use clear, actionable language. Use buttons that are big enough to tap easily - remember, your customers will typically be accessing your Link in Bio page via a mobile device!
4. Avoid generic terms like “Click Here.” You want your Link in Bio page to have specific and direct information about you and/or what you’re selling! That said, you will want to keep any descriptions to a few short one liners, meant to assist with context.
5. Add Your Profile Photo or Logo. Again, this should be direct and showcase you and your brand! You’ll want your brand to be clear in your Link in Bio page, and adding your logo of photo automatically shows this is your page. Consistency with your social profile builds trust in your audience!
6. Test Different Link Orders, and Link to Evergreen Content When Possible. This is a great place to test out different offers and see how they do, swapping them out and testing which are more successful! This is also a great place to link any evergreen content/offers you may have, as this will be a link consistently in your social media bios.
Now you’ve got everything you need to create a Link in Bio page and start driving traffic to your page!
