Scheduled Cancellations

Cancel a subscription without immediately revoking access to your Products.

Need to cancel a subscription but don't want to immediately revoke the customer's access to your Products? We've got you covered.

Step #1: Find the Subscription in Your SamCart Dashboard

To locate the subscription you're going to cancel, head to the Subscriptions tab in your marketplace navigation bar. Once you're there, you can locate the subscription in question one of two ways.

  1. Search for the subscription by entering a Name, Email Address, or Subscription ID into the search field.
  2. Adjust the date range selector and find the subscription in the table.

Step #2: Schedule the Cancellation

Using our quick actions, once you've located the subscription you can schedule a cancellation in just a couple clicks! Click on the three dots to the right of the subscription to pull up the quick action menu, and click Cancel Subscription.

This will bring up a Cancel Subscription pop up. From here, you have three options for a cancellation - Cancel now (1), Cancel at the end of the billing period (2) or Cancel on a specific date (3). Cancel now will immediately cancel the subscription. Cancelling at the end of the billing period will keep the subscription active until the next billing date, at which point the subscription will cancel so the customer will not be charged again. Cancelling on a specific date will cancel the subscription on the Date specified, and any charges that are scheduled to occur prior to that date will occur as normal.

Choose the option that you would like to go with, and click the Cancel Subscription button. You're done! Your customer's subscription will automatically cancel on your chosen date.
You can also cancel your customer's subscription from within their subscription page! To do this, click on the subscription ID for the subscription you would like to cancel on your Subscriptions page.

Once on that customer's subscription page, click on the Cancel Subscription button at the top of the page. This will bring up the same Cancel Subscription popup mentioned above, from there the process for cancelling is the same!

Undoing a Scheduled Cancellation

If you would like to undo a scheduled cancellation, you can do this with our quick actions as well! From the Subscriptions page, locate the subscription you would like to undo a cancellation for. Click on the three dots to the right of the subscription to pull up the quick actions menu, and click the Stop Cancellation button.

This will bring up a message asking you to confirm that you would like to stop the cancellation of the subscription. If you would like to proceed, click Delete Cancellation. This will remove the scheduled cancelling and the subscription will resume as normal!

Just like you can schedule a cancellation from the quick actions or the specific subscription page, you can also stop the cancellation from either place! To get to the specific subscription page, click on the Subscriptions tab on your left hand navigation bar, and search for the subscription you would like to stop the scheduled cancellation for. Click on the subscription ID to go to that specific subscription's page - the button that was previously "Cancel Subscription" will now be Stop Cancellation

Click on the Stop Cancellation button, this will bring up the same confirmation window mentioned above. Click Delete Cancellation on the confirmation window, and you're done!

Exporting Scheduled Cancellations Report

You can export your Scheduled Cancellations report by clicking on the Export button right above the subscriptions table on the Subscriptions page. This will bring up a pop-up window where you can choose details about your export.

In the Export A Report pop-up window, you can choose the Export Time Range, File Name, Email Address for the report to be sent to, and a Report Type. To make sure that you are getting a report for scheduled cancellations, it is very important to make sure to change the Report Type to Scheduled Cancellations

Whenever you're ready, click on Email Report. SamCart will process the export into a CSV file, and send an email to the address you chose when the file is ready to download.

Open your export and have more information on the subscriptions scheduled to be cancelled, such as attached card, subscription start date, amount of total times re-billed, and more!
