General Marketplace Settings

Customize your SamCart marketplace name, support contact, address, time zone, and more.

Customize all of your Marketplace level settings in the General Marketplace Settings section of your dashboard. These settings affect your entire Marketplace: all products, all emails, all reports, etc.

Navigate to your General Marketplace Settings in the bottom left corner:

Control a variety of different Marketplace-wide settings from the General Marketplace Settings!

Marketplace Name

Customize your Marketplace Name in the text box provided. 

Your Marketplace name is used when customers receive any of your Marketplace Emails (ex: Order receipts, refund notifications, etc.). In the example below, our Marketplace Name is My Marketplace. All emails sent to customers are sent from My Marketplace:

Marketplace Logo

SamCart displays your logo in several different places, including order receipts, sales pages, Checkout Anywhere pages, dunning pages, and more.

We recommend that you upload both a light version and a dark version of your logo.

  • Light Version will be displayed against lighter color backgrounds, such as white and grey.
  • Dark Version will be displayed against darker color backgrounds, such as black and blue.

Logos should be smaller than 2 MB. Recommended size is 250x250 pixels. PNG, JPG, and GIF formats are all supported. 

Default Favicon (Only available on SamCart Grow and Scale plans)

Add your logo image (or any other image!) to be displayed in a browser's address bar or next to the site name in a bookmark list for all product pages in your marketplace.

Default Country

Select The United States as your default country, and your checkout pages will all have The United States pre-selected in any Billing or Shipping fields.

Customers can always self-select another country from the dropdown menu.

Marketplace Address

Enter your physical business address in this field. You must provide a physical address to utilize the tax feature. 

Your marketplace address is required for sales tax calculations and invoicing. 

With the Show Address on Receipts toggle, you can control if your marketplace address will appear on order receipts. 

VAT ID (Optional)

If your business pays VAT tax, you can enter in your VAT ID in this section.

If your VAT ID is entered, it will appear on your invoices when applicable. SamCart does not use this information for filling.

Time Zone

Select a time zone for your Marketplace. The time zone you select will be reflect on your dashboard, reports, data exports, and marketplace emails. 

Support Contact

Enter contact information in this field to be displayed on your checkout pages and order receipts. This is how your customers will reach you if they have any issues. Our  recommendation is to enter an email address, but you can enter a phone number, twitter handle, or any other contact info you want to give your customers!

This is not required, but highly recommended. 


Choose which currency you want to display your prices in. Here is a list of available currencies you can use:

  • USD - United States Dollar
  • EUR - Euro
  • AUD - Australian Dollar
  • CAD - Canadian Dollar
  • GBP - British Pound Sterling
  • BRL - Brazilian Real
  • SEK - Swedish Krona
  • NOK - Norwegian Krona

Customers from around the world can purchase your products in their own currency. Your payment processor performs real-time exchange rates, at no cost to you or your customers.

Currency is locked upon account creation. 

Digital Product Expiration

Choose how long your Digital File download links are available after placing an order. 

Choosing 1 day would mean that customers have 24 hours to download your digital files before their download links expire.

NOTE: You can override this setting at the Product level via the Product Details tab. 

Embed HTML/Scripts

Enter in any HTML pixels or scripts that you want to display on all of your SamCart checkout pages and upsell pages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I change the subdomain ( for my Marketplace?
A: To do this, you will need to write into Support at The Support team can then edit your subdomain for you. However it's very important to first note that any outside links with the old subdomain will no longer work once it is changed and will need to be updated manually on your end.
